SIZE MATTERS

Will it just be you or will others be enjoying the sauna as well? Some infrared saunas only accommodate one person at a time. These models may work well if you are looking for a private experience. But they can be tight if used for more than one person. Clearlight’s Sanctuary line is larger overall than the Premier models and most likely a better choice if more than one person will be using it.

CHOOSE THE LOCATION

Measure the location where the sauna will be placed. What are the dimensions of the allotted space and is there an electrical outlet nearby? Often the answers to these questions will guide you to the right Clearlight sauna.

WOOD CHOICE

Infrared saunas can be composed of various types of wood. A durable wood choice, like mahogany, will be found on a premium sauna selection. A wood like mahogany is preferred over materials such as plywood. For those people who have multiple chemical sensitivities, basswood is great choice because it is hypoallergenic.

HEATERS

There are two types of heaters commonly found in infrared saunas: Ceramic and Carbon. Clearlight uses the True Wave heater which uses both ceramic and carbon.

Ceramic Heaters

Ceramic heaters have been around for many years. It was the original infrared sauna heater. They can get much hotter than a carbon heater but have a longer warm up time to reach their optimal temperature. They are also challenged when providing an even room temperature and often create hot or cold areas. The surface area of these heaters can get quite hot and produce a relatively short infrared wavelength. That means it will not offer as much benefit as its rival, the carbon based heater.

Carbon Heaters

These heaters are thin, light, and provide an even and safe surface temperature to the touch. This prolongs its life. In some cases, it can last as long as 50 years! One of the most distinctive features of a carbon heater is its ability to distribute heat evenly throughout the sauna. It heats up quickly (in about 10 minutes) which results in less expensive energy bills.

Carbon heaters produce a longer infrared wave and will be more in tune with the human body.

Carbon/Ceramic Heaters

Clearlight Saunas® use Carbon/Ceramic infrared sauna heaters to offer the best of both worlds. The Clearlight True Wave® II infrared sauna heater provides the long, beneficial waves of a carbon heater and the high output of a ceramic heater combined into one.

Make sure your infrared sauna has heaters all around you. Many companies do not use front wall heaters in their saunas. All Clearlight Saunas have heaters on the back wall, front wall, side walls, under the bench, by your calves and in the floor. When you use a Clearlight sauna, you are surrounded by infrared heat.

WAVELENGTHS

Clearlight offers two types of wavelength models. The first is Far Infrared. This is found in the Premier model line. The second option is Full Spectrum Infrared. You’ll find Full in the Clearlight Sanctuary models.

FAR INFRARED

Far infrared waves penetrate your body and activate the sweat glands. The sweat glands are one way the body eliminates toxins. Since the skin is the largest organ of the human body, it is a very effective way to get rid of toxins.

When far infrared waves are applied to water molecules (comprising 70% of our body) these molecules begin to vibrate. This vibration reduces the ion bonds and results in the eventual breakdown of the water molecules. This process causes encapsulated gasses and other toxic materials to be released.

You can bring the benefits of an infrared sauna into your home right now with a Clearlight Infrared Sauna.

FULL SPECTRUM

Full spectrum refers to the entire infrared spectrum: near infrared, mid infrared and far infrared. With the addition of near and mid infrared, you will get the maximum benefit from your Clearlight sauna.

Near Infrared is the shortest wavelength and can be absorbed just below the surface of the skin. As it warms you, it creates sweat that promotes healing and revitalization.

Mid infrared is a longer wavelength that can penetrate deeper into the body’s soft tissue increasing circulation and releasing oxygen to reach injured areas.

Far infrared is the longest wavelength which penetrates the fat cells causing vasodilation. This process involves the fat cells vibrating and expelling toxins, resulting in the greatest levels of detoxification. The far infrared wavelength also stimulates your metabolism to aid in weight-loss

THINK SAFETY

Most far infrared sauna users are looking to improve health. They make safety an important consideration when deciding what sauna to buy. When purchasing an infrared sauna, it is crucial to consider the Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) and Electric Fields (ELF). The EPA has put in place a 3mG (milligauss) safety limit for EMF levels for human exposure. A Clearlight Sauna meets the EPA safety limits for EMF.

Choosing the Right Clearlight®Sauna Model

QUALITY

Look for the highest quality craftsmanship possible during your sauna selection process. This will ensure you are making a solid investment in a sauna that is built to last.

Here are a few important quality factors to consider:
• No VOC glues should be used in the construction. The absence of VOC glue will ensure there is no unhealthy outgassing.
• Make sure there is a timer on your sauna to monitor your sessions and help you be aware of how much time has passed.
• Your sauna should have Kiln-dried/air dried, fine-grain wood construction to minimize warping and cracking and to offer a beautiful look.

Finally, ensure your sauna has an even heat that radiates from all areas of the sauna. You want a consistent temperature throughout and infrared heat over your entire body.

CHROMOTHERAPY & SOUND SYSTEM

Are you interested in light therapy? How about an audio system? There are a variety of entertainment options available to you to make your experience more exciting and customized.

Most companies charge an extra fee for Chromotherapy, where Clearlight® includes this amazing feature at no additional cost.

IN CONCLUSION

The considerations may seem endless when shopping for the right infrared sauna. Using these sauna selection tips as you start your search can help you make an informed decision in no time! Take care to research the specific models, materials, and companies ahead of time. This will ensure you find a reputable infrared sauna company and the right model for you.
